Components of the factory system

The gin pole and raising tackle. The pole is sixty-four inches long with a carpeted crutch on one end and a cheek block on the other.

A closer look at the tackle. The double block attaches to a tang on the bow rail. The factory gives you a standard loose-pin shackle with a spiral retaining ring. We've replaced that with a captive-pin D-shackle. I got tired of dropping the pin and/or ring over the side. The other block is a single with becket. The halyard ties to this block near the top of the gin pole. The raising line is 65 feet long and 1/4 inch diameter.

The raising tackle attaches to this tang mounted on the bow rail.

The cheek block is attached to the gin pole with hose clamps.

The mini stays are through-bolted to the mast using a wing nut for easy removal. The bolt hole is six feet above the base of the mast. The U-bolts that secure the other end of the mini stays are mounted on the cabin top in-line with the mast step's rear pin hole. This photo includes a few cabintop modifications not done by IM. The white and red raising line is running through a deck organizer only because the organizer is in the way.

I'll try to get a better picture in the future without all the shadows.
